Purple Corn Extract - 25g

Purple corn has been grown in Peru for over 2,500 years! Known as one of the 'lost foods of the Incas' we are so fortunate that it's still around today and that purple corn products are available in Australia.

Purple corn is really high in phenolics as well as anthocyanins. What this means is that if a product is high in phenolics then it's high in antioxidants. Anthocyaninins (The word anthocyanin is derived from the Greek terms, anthos, meaning flower, and kyanos, meaning blue.1)  create blue, purple or red colours in foods. They are anti inflammatory and encourage connective tissue regeneration. They are antioxidants as well as promoters of blood flow and collagen formation, and help to reduce cholesterol.

Purple corn extract is created by slowly juicing purple corn at slow speed then evaporating the juice at very low temperatures to allow for maximum nutrition and flavour. Once the liquid is gone, what remains is this super fine powder just waiting to be added to your food. Add to smoothies, raw desserts, juices, puddings, and dips for a purple hit in your day! Added to chocolate purple corn extract will give a whiskey type of flavour but without the alcohol!
