We have chosen to sell the commercial grade Vitamix at Raw Pleasure because we feel it's the one most suited for the raw food kitchen and better value for money too. You can use the Vitamix to blend smooth nut butters, total juices, pates, sauces, soups, ice cream, gelato, nut milks, pie fillings and more. It even comes with a locking lid to keep the food in the blender, and a tamper to push the food against the blade. The tamper and lid is designed so that you can push food right down but not far enough to reach the blades. In the morning we will often do a green smoothie with half greens from the garden (I highly recommend lemon balm and tarragon in your garden so you have some handy) and half fruit with enough water to make it a nice drinkable smoothie. It makes eating greens enjoyable even for those you don't love salads. A nice quick soup for lunch can be made in less than five minutes. And you don't even need to strain out the pulp! My husband and I both have a few green smoothies daily, the kids have other raw drinks. We're ingesting food of the highest quality thanks to the VitaPrep, and the results are showing! I especially love that this more powerful model grinds seeds (and probably grains, too, haven't tried) and deals with everything I throw at it! It's easy to use, no disassembly for cleaning required (yippee). I sold a muisc instrument to finance the purchase of my Vitamix, and it is the best decision I've ever made for me and my family. I have longed for the vitamix for so long that I still can't believe it is sitting in my kitchen!!! Everything a raw fooder longs for in a blender - smoothies, nut butters, crackers, icecream etc are all a breeze. I didn't think it was possible for raw food preparation to be even easier but the vitamix proved me wrong. To top it off, cleaning is so quick that it is practically nonexistent. The guide provided proved very useful in using the vitamix correctly and to its upmost ability. A must buy for everyone - absolutely worth every penny and I have only had it a couple of weeks. My raw coach suggested the Vitamix, and so do all the well known raw-foodists. Wanting to be sure for myself, especially given the significant investment, I spent several weeks searching the net, visiting specialty kitchen stores to compare products and prices. On deciding hands down that the Vitamix was the best choice, I started shopping for best price. Raw-Pleasure were the only ones with the Vitamix VitaPrep in stock at the right price. I've had my Vitamix for a couple of weeks now and I absolutely love it! My delicious life-giving green smoothies every morning have made such an incredible difference to my raw health. Thanks also to Raw-Pleasure for such impressive service. Jocelyn Bishop (Friday, 21 July 2006) Rating: For several years I have been using a normal blender to make green smoothies. First I tore the greens into small pieces and popped them into my blender adding 1 cup of water. Then I ran the blender until the greens were all completely blended. Next I added 2 chopped pears and ran the blender again. Finally I added 1 more cup of water and several bananas and blended the lot until smooth. When I poured it into a glass, it was smooth but had a somewhat marbled appearence. Last week I received my vitamix blender*yay* and now I toss the lot in and blend. The finished product is velvery smooth and has a different mouth fell. It only takes about 30-40 sec blending time, so it must be better for me too. The great part about the vitamix is that it has a big goblet and there is nothing under the blades that foods can stick to, so all it takes is a quick rinse to clean. Its so easy now. Joss |
